Fraunhofer SCAI, SIDACT and six partners join efforts in the public funded VAVID project in big engineering data analysis

30.10.2014

The analysis of big numerical simulation data is SIDACT’s major development focus. Fraunhofer SCAI (project leader), SIDACT and six partners from research and industry collaborate in a joint research project called VAVID.

The common goal is to develop new technologies for an efficient handling of huge archives of simulation and measuring data.

Furthermore, the extraction, management and analysis of relevant data shall be improved and embedded into a central data management system to support interactive visual analytics of whole sets of numerical simulation results. This is expected to improve and speed-up the engineer's understanding of the driving design factors of new engineering developments. Application areas of the advanced infrastructure are automotive design and the design of wind mills. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Förderkennzeichen 01IS14005).

Further information is available at the official press release (German).
