C++ Software Developer SIDACT Analysis tools: FEMALYST and DIFFCRASH

Who we are:

We develop advanced software tools for the automotive industry, with a focus on compressing crash simulation results and identifying new crash behaviors using machine learning techniques. Our solutions support engineers in analyzing and comparing simulation data efficiently and intelligently. Our customers include all major German car manufacturers and their service providers, as well as automotive companies from around the world, including Europe, the USA, India, China, South Korea, and Japan. We are a team of fourteen employees based in Bonn-Beuel, Germany, near the “Tapetenfabrik” and just a five-minute walk from the Bonn-Beuel train station. SIDACT is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute SCAI.

Your Tasks:

You contribute to the software development of DIFFCRASH and FEMALYST as part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers, mathematicians and computer scientists. We develop our software in C++ using VS Code running on Linux. Current topics are

  • further development of the software architecture,
  • performance optimization using parallel computing,
  • adaptation of our machine learning methods
  • apply new artificial intelligence methods
  • robustness and tests.

Each team member is responsible for an independent part of the development.

Your Qualifications:

  • University degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering
  • Enthusiasm for C++ programming in a complex software infrastructure
  • Knowledge of software architecture principles
  • Good knowledge of software development tools
  • Communication with your team members and our clients in English.
